How much caffeine is in chocolate? Why does it sometimes go white? What’s the difference between white, milk and dark chocolate?

Journey into the world of chocolate at Whittington Flamefest!

The School of Chemistry is teaming up with Free Range Science and the Royal Institution of Australia to showcase the fascinating chemistry behind one our favourite treats. We’ll take you on a five-step journey through the chocolate making process, with things to touch, smell and taste at each stage.

Make sure you don’t miss the great cooking demonstrations, including tempering chocolate to give it a lovely glossy finish.

Whittington Flamefest is on from 4:30 pm Friday 26 October at Whittington Link, Townsend Road, Whittington (Geelong).

Free Range Science is funded by the Victorian Government to bring science and scientists out of the lab and into the towns of regional Victoria.
